Firstly, our GM saw the report MC generated and He’s ecstatic. He thinks
we will save $50K a year. I don’t think it’ll be too hard to pay for the
software at the end of the 30 days.
I was trying to show the Copy director and business manager how to use the
software, and all they could do was ogle over the day’s reports!! Legible
conversation was replaced with copious amounts of ‘better check that’…’what the
** is that doing there?’…’that spot is HOW long??’…’since when is that spot
named like THAT??’…etc, etc, etc. Copy and my GM were wondering if
Power-Link Software was scheming to “hide” this tool from us. Needless to
say it has and is solving many current issues. They are even checking logs
from last week to see what went wrong.

“We have been using Media Check here in Birmingham and I find it to be a very
useful tool in the daily tracking of missing media. I have recommended usage to
some of our other Cox sites as well. I know that stations have various
ways/systems that they use in order to track missing copy for the next day but I
prefer Media Check as it is a very quick and simple way to get the information
and then forward on to the appropriate department. I run the report-which only
takes moments- and then email that report to the production department and any
missing copy can then be easily identified and tracked. That is the last step in
my day to make sure that spots are available for airing the next day”.

Almost everyday one of the traffic or continuity people at WJR says: “I love
Media Check”. WJR has historically had very few copy errors therefore we were
not sure we really needed Media Check. We have been surprised at how helpful
Media-Check has been. When one of the few errors occurs, we are immediately
notified and we can prevent the error from ever happening on the air! Whether
it’s a dubbing error or entry error, we know about it before the log even leaves
our office. It’s the greatest aid! Power-link’s automated reconciliation is a
great tool for any talk radio station. The automated time change feature saves
many manual entries. Power-link “help” is always prompt and efficient. Our
problem or question is usually resolved in a matter of minutes.
